Children

PRESCHOOL CLASSES RETURN!

Children ages 18 months through 5 years will learn letter and number recognition, vocabulary building, listening comprehension and creative expression through our interactive stories, songs, and crafts.  In person registration begins on Monday, September 13 and continues through Friday, September 24.  Classes begin on Monday, October 4 and continue through the week of Monday, November 22.  We meet in the theater.The schedule is as follows:

              Mondays at 2          for ages 4&5 (limit 15)

              Tuesdays at 10        for ages 18-24 months (limit 10)

              Tuesdays at 11        for age 2 (limit 10)

              Wednesdays at 10   for ages 3-5 (limit 12)

              Wednesdays at 11   for age 3 (limit 12)

Evening Reading Enrichment Class*   

Monday, September 20                     7-7:45                           All ages

Meet Miss Harriet in the children's room for stories and songs all about the bath and your bodies.  Everyone who attends will get a rubber duck for their baths!

Roald Dahl*   

Wednesday, September 22                3:30-4:30                      Gr. 4/5

It's Roald Dahl month!  Celebrate with some food and drinks inspired by his books, games, and more.

Willow's Whispers*

Friday, September 24                          3:30-4:15                      Ages 5+

Willow has a very small voice, but it grows much bigger when she uses her magical voice magnifier.  After reading about Willow, we'll make our own magnifiers.  Please bring an empty paper towel tube.

Book Swap 

Saturday, October 2                             10-12:30; 2:30-4            All ages

              Bring the books you've outgrown, or are just tired of, and swap them for some that are just right or new for you!

Summer Reading Club prizes

If you participated in the reading club and met the requirements, but were unable to attend the end of the summer party, you may pick up your certificate, coupons, and free book from the children's room anytime through the end of the month.

Free books for library cards

September is National Library Card Sign Up Month.  If you have your own library card or if you get one during the month, show it to someone in the children's room and take a free book, while supplies last!

Mr. Bryce, the Youth Services Librarian, can be reached at 973-627-6555 or by e-mail at Richard.Bryce@denvillelibrary.org. He generally works Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 am-5:00 pm. On Thursday, he works from 1:00 pm-9:00 pm.
