Special thanks to our wonderful Friends of the Library for generously supporting our Youth Services Department and sponsoring so many of our children's programs. THANK YOU!

After School Art Photos
In our final After School Art session of 2014, our amazing young artists applied the concept of symmetry to nutcracker drawings. Please click here or on the photos below to see more of their fabulous results!
Many of these events have priority registration for Denville residents. Please read the details on the registration page before signing up. Thank you!
Thank you for reading with us in 2014! Our Winter Storytime session will run from the week of January 26th through the week of March 16th. Dates, times, and registration details will be announced in early 2015. Happy new year!
Drop-In Craft: Marshmallow Snowman
We are all ready to welcome winter, and we are celebrating with a special Drop-In Craft on Saturday, December 27th from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Ages 3 and up, please join us to make a Marshmallow Snowman! We will be using mini marshmallows, pretzels, white paint, and glitter to create our masterpieces.
No registration is necessary! Stop in any time during the hour!
We're cleaning out our craft closet and want YOU to come make fun things from all our odds and ends! We'll have paint, stencils, all sorts of projects, jewels, stickers, glitter, yarn, and more. Help us use it all up by making neat stuff to take home!
Our Craft-a-Palooza program on Monday, December 29th will run from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm and is open to grades 2 though 8. We hope to see lots of boys and girls ... we have something for everyone!
Please register by clicking here or on the flyer below for this huge craft program. We can't wait to see what you make!
Kids ages 8 and up, please join us during winter break on Tuesday, December 30th at 3:30 pm for Silly Science. We will do an hour's worth of all new, super fun experiments. Let's mix some things together and see what happens! (And we will learn, too!)
Space is limited, so please sign up by clicking here or on the flyer below.
Sensory and Movement Storytime
Our next session of Sensory and Movement Storytime for Kids with Special Needs (for children with physical, developmental, medical, emotional, and/or learning-based special needs) will be held on Saturday, January 3rd at 10:00 am.
If your child needs some time to become acclimated to our setting, please feel free to come at 9:45 am.
This program precedes our Read to a Dog program at 11:00 am, in which certified therapy dogs come to the library. Two of our therapy dogs will be available around 10:40 am specifically for the Sensory and Movement Storytime, so as to accommodate children who may be more comfortable in a smaller group. All children are welcome to stay for the 11:00 am session.
Please register by clicking here or on the flyer below. We can't wait to see you!
Read to a Dog!
Ring in 2015 with our therapy dogs!
Reading shouldn't take a break during your school break, right? Stay reading with our therapy dogs! Meet Clover, Rusty, Zoe, Turner, and Janie at Read to a Dog on Saturday, January 3rd from 11:00 am to Noon. This program is open to all ages and abilities, both readers and pre-readers.
Reading aloud to non-judgmental listeners (like dogs!) boosts confidence and improves reading and recitation skills. Moreover, reading together helps to reinforce letter recognition and vocabulary, and it creates a stronger bond with books. It's also a lot of fun! Don't believe us? Check out these great photos from our December session.
Ready to sign up? Cool! Please register by clicking here or on the flyer below. Woof!
