Seeing Eye Puppies!

Thank you to our friends from the Seeing Eye / 4-H Puppy Raising Program for visiting the Denville Library. We learned so much about how guide dogs are raised and trained, and we especially loved petting all the puppies! Please click on the collage below to see more photos from this fun event.

You can also check out the training circle video, in which the puppies follow basic commands while in motion. Great job, guys!

Girl Scout Troop 941

We were treated to an amazing presentation by the young ladies in Girl Scout Troop 941. As part of their Silver Award project, troop members researched the problem of homeless animals and presented that information to younger Scouts. We learned about harder-to-adopt animals; the benefits of microchipping; the Petfinder website; and how to make toys for shelter animals. Troop 941 also collected donations for local animal shelters. Thank you so much!

To see more photos from the presentation, please click here or on the picture below. Great job, ladies!

Read to a Dog!

Meet Clover, Omega, Janie, Zoe, Turner, and Rusty at Read to a Dog on Saturday, June 6th from 11:00 am to Noon. This program is open to all ages and abilities, both readers and pre-readers.

Reading aloud to non-judgmental listeners (like dogs!) boosts confidence and improves reading and recitation skills. Moreover, reading together helps to reinforce letter recognition and vocabulary, and it creates a stronger bond with books. It's also a lot of fun! Don't believe us? Check out these great photos from our May session.

Ready to sign up? Cool! Please register by clicking here or on the flyer below. Woof!
