Did you know that New Jersey is universally recognized as the "Diner Capital of the World"? In New Jersey, diners are more than just a place to eat. Friendly, familiar beacons on the Garden State's highways, byways and business districts, they play an important role in our cultural and community life.

John historian Michael C. Gabriele, author of "The History of Diners in New Jersey," for an entertaining evening of diner history, including a slideshow of some of our most famous Jersey diners. Copies of Mr. Gabriele's book will be available for purchase, and he'll sign them after his presentation.

Joyce Schenkman, a certified preschool and elementary school teacher with years of classroom experience, is bringing her Spanish Together program to the Denville Library. Yay! Ms. Joyce will lead a four-week Spanish Together program for preschoolers (children ages 3 to 6), in which she will teach conversational Spanish and basic vocabulary to kids with no prior experience in speaking Spanish. This fun and interactive approach uses songs, stories, and hands-on activities. This is a great way to share and reinforce the language experience for little ones!

Sessions are ongoing on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am through October 1st, and we still have a few spots open. Want to join us? Please email maryellen.liddy@denvillelibrary.org to sign up. See you soon!
