West African Drumming Circle

Join Mark Wood of Wood’n Drums in the theatre at the Denville Public Library on Friday August 17th at 7:00 pm for an evening of West African drumming.

Come experience the joy of West African drumming.  This is an all-level workshop geared toward those who want to hone their drumming skills,  Mark will cover the basics of playing the djembe (pronounced “gem bay”) and will teach the three sounds (base, tone, slap). Participants will be taught African rhythms and how to play in an ensemble environment.  No experience necessary.  Please bring a tall lawn chair, we’ll be drumming outside if the weather permits!!
